OVERVIEW


The interior design of the Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts was established in 2003 with the aim of training and providing human resources on design knowledge and skills, who can participate in the economic – social construction and development of the country in the new era.

The education curriculum is based on the reference of the equivalent training programs frame structure from the Top 100 universities in the world such as Cincinnati University, University of Central Oklahoma … At the same time, the program is completed in accordance with the assess process of Ton Duc Thang University, referencing the feedback from employers, alumni and reviews contribution of prestigious experts from Vietnam and the world.

The program provides students with basic knowledge about the principles of design, training methods as well as design thinking through diversified and specialized projects. The program also provides students with the knowledge of materials, and materials applications in real such as Furniture Design (furniture design), Interior Construction & Materials (Construction & Finishing Materials). Students also may choose interdisciplinary courses of the faculty of Industrial Fine Arts due to their favorite: Light Fixture Design (Industrial Design), Prototyping (Industrial Design), Fashion Merchandising (Fashion Design), Fashion Event Design (Fashion Design), Photography (Graphic Design).

Besides, the program also focuses on improving the necessary professional skills for students such as: Presentation methods, the estimation for construction in progress.

In addition to the main program courses, students of interior Designers have the opportunity to participate in club activities Furniture faculty such as model club, club furniture .., attended the exciting activities of the department and the school. Department of Applied Art also frequently associated with the following organizations: HAWA (Association of Woodworking Vietnam), The company produces furniture accessories: Häfele, BLUM, Vinh Tuong … businesses, construction companies, Page Decor organized tour, is collective, organizational design competitions rewarding to help students develop comprehensive knowledge and professional skills. In the sectoral program has a number of modules are taught in English with foreign teachers and support corporate training, company prestige in Vietnam and abroad. In particular, specialized teachers always supported wholeheartedly expertise, encourage students to attend confident design competition domestically and internationally. Faculty of Applied Art also has a program of international links train. From academic year 2008, the Department held a successful internship program last semester for students of Interior Design at the University of Shute (Taiwan). Students after graduation internship in Taiwan have more opportunities to receive scholarships Master in subjects day. More recent graduates at university masters Shute (Taiwan) and now continues doctoral student doing research in South Korea, Taiwan.

In order to train up a team of experts capable of high design, interior design industry of the Faculty is equipped with systems of modern material basis as:

-Research system graphics, self-study (500 m 2)
-Interior painting Rooms: 3 rooms (54 m2/1 room)
-Studio rooms: 1 room (37 m2)
-Academic Rooms: 1 room (140 m2)

The system connection infrastructure wireless network covering the whole of the classrooms of the faculty to ensure all students can access the Internet easily.

Employment Opportunities


Through the survey, this Faculty had confirmed to the 90% of graduates of the interior design industry is working with stable wages and proper training fields. This demonstrates the quality of training of the Faculty has prestige in the society, create confidence for business careers.

Many interior designers work on a freelance basis, others are employed by consultancies, or work through agencies. They may also be employed directly by repeat developers such as retailers or by architectural practices or multi-discipline design practices.

Qualifications may include art and design-based BTEC’s and HND’s, or degrees in interior design, 3D design, spatial design, fine art, architecture or interior architecture. Interior designers may also become members of an institution such as the British Institute of Interior Design. Some interior designers may specialise in the design of a particular type of space.
